Piezo- and pyroelectricity of BaTiO3/PMMA and PZT/PMMA composites

Abstract :
In this paper, there are presented the investigations of the piezo- and pyroelectric properties for BaTiO3/PMMA and PZT/PMMA composites (0-3 connectivity). Samples of these materials have been obtained by polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) where the fine particles of BaTiO3 and PZT were dispersed. The piezoelectric constants (d, and g) ware measured by well-known static method, whereas the pyroelectric coefficient (p) by so-called quasi-static direct method. These parameters and, moreover, the figure of merit for piezoelectricity (dhgh) and pyroelectricity (p/ε´) in dependence on volume fraction of the BaTiO3 and PZT were determined
