Abstract :
A new model for including the saturation effects in a star-connected induction motor is presented. The model is a combination of the dq-axes machine model in a rotating reference frame attached to the air-gap flux, with "magnetic harmonic functions" obtained experimentally, which describe the nonlinear behaviour. The fundamental and third harmonic spatial components of flux distribution that arises from saturation in the main flux path are included in the model. Experimental validation has been performed for the comparing simulated and experimental results
