Abstract
This paper investigates the vibratory and acoustic behavior of induction motor when fed by power converter under PWM. The paper describes first the generation process of stator vibration taking into account mechanical, electromagnetic and vibratory models. Then, different spread spectrum strategies are experimented and compared with natural sampling PWM as reference strategy. The harmonics caused by the PWM can become of prime importance when matching a mechanical resonance: thus, the way they are built has a great influence on vibratory and acoustic behavior
