Abstract :
Very low threshold (~4 mA), grating coupled, surface-emitting lasers around 1.55 μm wavelength region are reported. Emitting far field profiles in different directions have been measured for either single- or multi- mode laser cases. Future directions to improve FWHM of the laser emitting angles are also discussed
