Abstract :
The electric power courses at Western Kentucky University are part of a project-based engineering curriculum, in which classroom instruction is heavily augmented by real-world projects. This paper discusses three recent projects assigned as part of junior and senior design. Two of the three were senior projects that began in the junior year, and involved external support from industry and government partners. Integration of large-scale, multidisciplinary, multi-year projects into an undergraduate project-based curriculum will also be presented.
