  • Abstract
    The paper will review the state-of-the-art in Microwave Photonic technologies for millimeter-wave and THz signal generation. Emerging component and system technologies for continuous-wave (cw) photonic high-frequency signal generation and their applications in spectroscopy, imaging, instrumentations, radio-astronomy and communications will be presented. The main focus will be laid upon approaches utilizing optical heterodyning or photomixing in semiconductors.
