Abstract :
A new reduced-dispersion-slope non-zero-dispersion fiber design, optimized for use in DWDM systems is presented. The low dispersion slope, S0=0.045 ps/nm2-km, results in significantly less variation in dispersion over the EDFA gain band these fibers can be designed with four-wave-mixing performance superior to large effective area fibers which inherently have large dispersion slopes
