Abstract
The impact of critical level of patients has seen continuous monitoring of them as a basic requirement, which is implanted using vivo sensors. Power dissipation and antenna radiation which affects the tissues due to overheating remains a challenge to be addressed. This paper deals with the enhancement of RPL (Routing protocol for low power and lossy networks) with temperature metric in body area networks, as it reduces the routing inconsistencies and is able to self- repair the network. The proposed system is based on the idea of Thermal aware RPL. The advantage of this system would be in uniquely setting the temperature thresholds for each sensor as it would avoid affecting the tissue due to high temperature level. Proposed algorithm is implemented in Contiki operating system using Cooja simulator.
