Abstract :
In this paper the compact X-band dielectric disk antenna being capable of generating two different radiation patterns is proposed. The antenna excitation is realized by means of the cylindrical monopoles located both in the center and near the edge of the antenna. Numerical simulations of the input reflection coefficient, near-field distributions and radiation patterns are performed. As a result of that, the optimal parameters of the antenna elements are determined and appropriate antenna prototype is elaborated. The proposed antenna can be used in different wireless communication systems, for instance, as a primary source of the reflector antenna.
