Abstract :
Replacing omni and sectorized antennas with narrow-beam smart antennas can extend cell site coverage. The improved coverage is due primarily to the higher gain provided by narrow-beam antennas. This extended range can fill coverage holes, improve handoffs, and reduce the number of new cell sites necessary to maintain service levels
