Abstract :
This paper is dedicated to a direct synthesis of the wideband non-uniform transmission line matching circuits. A comparison of solutions, obtained using an analytical approach versus a numerical optimization method is presented. Practical conditions in microwave design, such as technological constraints and smoothness of the characteristic impedance function are considered. A new method for smoothing, based on constraint handling was implemented. Also sensitivity of the input reflection coefficient characteristic impedance is investigated.
