Abstract :
Due to high velocity of nodes in the mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) fault can occur at any time due to the instability of links. To overcome this difficulty, we propose a new solution for fault tolerance using replication of data items at the backbone nodes. A new Scalable Congestion Aware Replication Protocol (SCARP) is designed in this paper that overcomes the fault and increases the data availability. The designed algorithm is adaptive with respect to the rate of replication, time to overcome the fault and success ratio.
