  • Abstract
The digital control of an automobile engine air-fuel (A/F) ratio system is considered. Feedback in the existing A/F ratio system is provided by a relatively inexpensive HEGO sensor. This sensor only quantizes the system´s output into two levels, high or low. Preliminary results concerning the development of a digital controller that improves system performance using the existing HEGO sensor, rather than a higher resolution and more expensive sensor, is presented
