Abstract :
The existence of acetophenone at the electrode interfaces significantly enhance the high field dc conduction current in LDPE film. This effect was more remarkable when acetophenone was put on the positive gold electrode or negative aluminum electrode. These results show that the acetophenone enhances the electronic carrier injection into polyethylene, especially holes for gold electrode and electrons for aluminum electrode, probably modifying the surface state at the electrode interface. The result on the effect of polarity reversal suggests the injected carriers before the polarity reversal act as a hetero-space charge after the polarity reversal and enhance the carrier injection
