Abstract :
In order to review the industry practices, CEATI (Canadian Electrical Association Technologies Inc.) asked Hydro-Quebec to survey North American approaches in the stray voltage domain. A summary of the survey´s results in terms of consensus as well as divergences of opinion were highlighted. The methods of analysis, the tools used for evaluation, and the corrective actions to control the stray voltage are part of the subject covered. At the time of preparing this paper, only partial results are available. This is why Hydro-Quebec´s method, which is a significant representative of the practices, is described within. A final paper is available upon request to the authors
