Abstract :
In the last years the power system industry is rapidly changing. The traditional centralized systems which grew as a result of large scale integration are replaced by the dispersed or distributed generation (DG) which is situated closer to the consumers. In electric power supplying these sources can be interconnected either at the MV or at the LV distribution levels. This change became more perceptible mainly due to the connection of a large amount of generation sources at the MV level of the distribution systems (DS). In the years to come such a scenario is also going to happen in LV grids through the interconnection of small modular generation sources forming a new type of power system, the microgrid (MG)
