Abstract :
This paper presents a study of a multi-grounded three-phase four-wire distribution system and discusses a line-to-ground fault location algorithm based on real time monitoring of current levels in the neutral-to-ground path at several locations throughout the primary feeder. The measurement technique, combined with a triangulation algorithm based on an exponential curve fitting approach, suggests a fault location accuracy of approximately +/- 5 poles.
