Abstract
Saudi Arabia is building a 900km state-of-the-art fence along its border with Iraq, where Islamist fighters are active. The first phase of the $3.4bn Northern Border Security Project was inaugurated in September 2014. Airbus Defence and Space is the prime contractor.
