Abstract :
In energy harvesting wireless networks, efficient utilization of harvested energy is essential to increase network lifetime as well as to enable maximum amount of information transmission. In this paper, throughput maximization for a two-hop communication system is studied under the assumption of known energy arrival times and harvested energy amounts in advance. Extending earlier work, optimal power allocation and scheduling strategies for two energy arrivals at the source and multiple energy arrivals at the relay are identified. Furthermore, an algorithm that computes an optimal transmission policy by building on the two energy arrival case for both source and relay is described.
