  • Abstract
The modeling of an induction machine for power-flow studies is the primary purpose of this paper. The model will start with the conventional symmetrical component model and will evolve into a model in the phase frame. The developed model is incorporated into the IEEE induction machine test system. Since the test feeder specifies a given input power to the machine (motor in case) a method for computing the required slip is developed. A power-flow study of the test feeder with the induction machine modeled and following convergence, a complete analysis of the operating characteristics are performed
