Abstract :
A TMN based operations system development platform that addresses the problems pertaining to recursive operations system improvement is proposed. The platform consists of the object class library named TNMSkernel (transport network management systems kernel) and associated support tools. TNMSkernel provides the application program interfaces needed for management information manipulation while the support tools provide application program generation capability from GDMO object class definitions and extensions of behavior description. The proposed platform is implemented and used to develop an ATM based transport network experimental operations system. The results confirm the platform´s efficiency in terms of reusability and productivity of system production
