Abstract
This paper reviews some measurements of power quality in regard to interruptions and sags: the ITIC (new CBEMA) curves, SEMI F47 standard, and typical lighting and motor contactor sag withstand. It reviews common interruption measurement indices, including such measurements as SAIDI, SAIFI, and CAIDI. It reviews short-term interruption and sag measurements interruption indices such as the MAIFI and SARFI, and the new standards for interruption measurements, IEEE-1366, IEEE-1359, and draft P1564. The difficulty involved in what can be done about transient performance of the power system is addressed. The paper promotes further movement toward improved tracking and measurement of interruption and sag power quality issues, such as the inclusion of this feature in a greater number of common lower cost revenue meters
