Abstract :
Because the fractal density functions which represent Cantor and Sterpinski diffraction gratings can be build up in a similar way to the Walsh functions, that is through a multiplicative superposition of rectangular periodic components, they have self-images along the propagation direction. Here is shown this fact and an extension when we have Cantor gratings with equal dimension but different lacunarity is discussed
