Abstract
This paper presents a highly efficient adaptive detector for TCM signals transmitted over unknown time-dispersive channels. This scheme combines a signal predictor/equalizer and an RSSE detector with an embedded DFE. Due to the introduction of the signal predictor/equalizer, the embedded DFE obtains reliable and delay-free feedback symbols directly from the output of the RSSE detector. Performance analysis and simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve the performance of ideal DFE with TCM signals in most cases without increasing the throughput delay
