Knowledge-based medical system integration to foster knowledge transfer and network building

This paper describes projects that demonstrate applied knowledge management in medical engineering. A video conferencing system illustrates how specialists and general practitioners are connected superiorly. A readability test assists to prepare information in a package leaflet for patients. All described projects show that knowledge-based solutions can effectively support people in health matters. The outlook illustrates a comprehensive medical framework which facilitates knowledge transfer and network building between patients, relatives and medical experts.
