Abstract :
This paper discusses a multi-point video conference bridge (MPVCB) over asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switch environment. This MPVCB, developed by Telecommunication Laboratories (TL), is a three way video conference bridge. Two application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and several FPGAs have been implemented to realize this system. Any commercial available H.261 codecs can hook up to MPVCB. By using this unique architecture and user friendly man-machine interfaces, MPVCB can be expanded to support about up to 51 members in one conference group or 17 different three way video conference groups in total
