Abstract
IEEE 519-1992 has been widely accepted and used for many years now. During these years, utility engineers have found the pros and cons of applying it on their systems. This paper describe one engineers experience in applying the document and explain how some of the proposed changes in the soon to be balloted update of this recommended practice will be beneficial
