Abstract
Cognitive biometrics refer to methods and techniques for the authentication of a person based on the measurement of signals generated directly or indirectly from their thought processes, which reflect the mental and emotional states. The process utilises biological based signals such as EEG, ECG, EDR as inputs to an authentication system. Here we consider EEG signal as input to the system as it has higher frequency response than ECG signal. We discuss on various EEG systems and hence result of using this input parameter is to increase authentication and system performance.
