  • Abstract
EDIFACT, the electronic data interchange for administration, commerce and transport, is the international electronic data interchange (EDI) solution that, over time, is expected to unite worldwide electronic business and administrative transactions in a common series of standards. Efforts by the United Nations to create worldwide EDIFACT standards, which are now ready for practical use, are summarized. EDIFACT rules, communication of EDIFACT messages, and introduction of EDIFACT in an enterprise are discussed
