Abstract
This paper presents a practical approach of employing parallel digital signal processing (DSP) techniques to accelerate the execution of an image sequence compression algorithm. The proposed parallel DSP platform consists of an IBM-compatible 486DX33 PC and two identical TMS320C32 DSP cards connected in a star configuration. On average, a speed-up factor of 2.3 has been recorded for the proposed platform
