  • Abstract
Investigates the comparative performance of output buffer management schemes for a fast packet switch in an ATM/B-ISDN environment. Specifically, the authors compare the performance of the complete sharing, complete partitioning, sharing with minimum allocation and sharing with maximum puzzle length strategies for a network node with several outgoing links. The performance with respect to throughput and power is quantified for a number of different traffic source models and loading patterns
