Abstract :
We present upper bounds for bit error rates of turbo coded modulation (TuCM) on AWGN channels. We then apply these bounds to calculate the spectral efficiency of adaptive TuCM on flat fading channels, which comes within 4 dB of the fading channel capacity limit
