Abstract
A formal model of the interaction of motivation, emotion and cognition is developed and tested in a subsequent simulation. We tried successfully to simulate the behavior of “persons” with different traits of personality according to the Big-Five dimension “introversion - extraversion”. It can be shown, that the different forms of behavior of these two types are due to interactions of motivation, cognition and emotion. Especially it can be shown that the efficiency of the agents is not dependent on cognition alone, but on the special form of the interaction of cognition, motivation and emotion.
