Abstract :
In this paper, a High Throughput Long Training Field (HT-LTF) sequence design aiming at estimating the MIMO channel with less overhead in wireless local-area network (WLAN) system is addressed. Firstly, the HT-LTF sequence and the preamble formats in IEEE standard (Std) 802.11n are described. Then, to meet the transmission requirements for the next-generation WLAN, a novel HT-LTF sequence adopting the optimal pilot and the corresponding preamble formats are proposed. The novel design can not only increase the spectral efficiency by shortening the preamble length at the transmitter, but also improve the accuracy of channel estimation at the receiver. Finally, numerical calculations and simulation results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis.
