Abstract :
This paper describes achromatic/chromatic spatio-velocity contrast sensitivity functions (SV-CSFs) and their application to video quality assessment (VQA). SV-CSF is a modulation transfer function of the human visual system, and consists of the relationship among visual contrast sensitivities, spatial frequencies and velocities of objects. For simulating perceived videos, SV-CSFs are applied to filter original and distorted videos. The criteria in our VQA method are obtained by calculating CIELAB color differences between filtered videos. From the experimental results for the validation, it was shown that the proposed VQA method is a more efficient VQA method than conventional methods.
