Abstract
A particle-mesh method with variable-size mesh has been implemented to study the evolution in time of a negative transient discharge in oxygen. The effects of ionization, electron attachment and recombination between ions has been considered. Moreover, at the cathode, secondary electrons are generated by the impact of positive ions and photons. The electric field and particles densities predicted with this method are compared with those obtained from the application of a FCT technique
