Abstract
A method to keep trace of companies´ technology strategies based on patent analysis is presented. The method adopts the conceptualization that considers innovation to be either an outcome of component change or component recombination. The method has been applied to compare the technology strategies of 12 European companies in the biomedical prostheses industry.
