Abstract
We develop an understanding of how collaboration is possible among virtual team-members spread across the globe in time and space. We do so by interpretively examining communication patterns of virtual team-members located in the US and Norway, engaged in systems development projects for actual clients. A number of collaboration inhibitors are identified, along with strategies used by team-members to bridge the time-space divide.
