Abstract
This paper presents somehow unconventional but efficient power supply topology to be used in Range Extender Module for electric vehicles. The design procedure along with the description of hardware and control loop is given. One of the design requirements was to achieve highest possible efficiency in generator mode of Range Extender thus commonly used three phase inverter topology could not be an optimal selection. An alternative topology is proposed, prototype evaluation results do fully confirm meeting efficiency targets.
