Abstract
Technique is characteristic of human organisation. As such, it has generated many significant works which vary in nature from the descriptive to the critical. Works by Gille, Ellul and Mumford should be recognised as part the epistomological base of technology management. A new systemic perspective on the technique outlined in this paper may provide keys to a new technology management paradigm for the new millennium
