  • Abstract
The relevance of exergetic analysis in the design of electric energy systems is demonstrated. This analysis provides a quantitative measure of the quality of energy in terms of its ability to perform work and leads to a more rational use of energy. A general and easy-to-use model, implemented in object oriented programming, is developed for the planning of electric energy systems including exergetic considerations. The model presented is applied to a space-beating study and to a regional planning case
