Abstract :
The combination of the value of talent and its simultaneous shortage has made it a huge challenge for high tech firms to keep their talents. Despite an extensive academic literature on the subject of employee retention, there is less attention paid to managerial opinions on this issue. This paper compared and contrasted the opinions of managers with what academics suggested in the literature about how to keep talents in high tech firms in the PRC. The results suggest the importance of contextualization in organizational research.
