Abstract
The authors investigated the performance of a microstrip integrated six-port reflectometer operated with pulsed signals, using diode detectors. The circuit configuration and the calibration and measurement procedures are presented. The performance of a reflectometer designed with a center frequency of 8 GHz was investigated for pulse durations down to 3 μs and found to be excellent for frequencies from 4 GHz to 12 GHz and satisfactory up to 14 GHz. The pulsed measurements exhibit the same accuracy as the CW (continuous wave) measurements. The investigation shows that this type of network analyzer can be used to perform measurements on pulsed RF components
