Abstract :
In this paper a model has been formulated to simulate the movement of wire like particles in single phase common enclosure gas insulated busduct (GIB) with and without gas mixtures. The results have been presented and analyzed in this paper. Distance traveled in the radial direction is found to be reduced with SF6 and N2 gas mixture. From the above results 40% N2 and 60% SF6 gas mixture is highly reliable to the operation of gas insulated substation (GIS). At this condition the green house gas effect can be reduced.
