Abstract
A novel UWB microstrip-fed antenna with L-shape ground is presented in this paper for ultra- wide band application. The overall dimensions of this antenna are 18×16×1.6 mm3. The electric length of the antenna is 0.19λ. The antenna is constructed on FR4 substrate with thickness of 1.6 mm and relative dielectric constant of 4.4. The proposed antenna is designed to operate over 3.3 GHz to 12GHz for S11<; -10dB. Relative bandwidth is over 120%. Some parameters have significant impact on the return loss of the antenna, which are discussed in this paper. Simulated results also indicate that good radiation patterns are obtained.
