Abstract
Wireless sensor networks are becoming more widely used in various fields. Localization is a crucial and essential issue for sensor network applications. In this paper, we propose a simple, distributed and low cost localization algorithm which approaches the benefits of range-free schemes. The proposed algorithm utilizes the location information of neighbor anchor nodes to estimate the intersection points of the neighbor anchors´ communication ranges. Then, by using RSS (Received Signal Strength)-comparison, it compares the RSS of received signals from the neighbor anchor nodes and selects the valid points to find the sensor node´s locations. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithm is more accurate and stable than the traditional algorithm which has the similar approach.
