Abstract :
A series of acenaphthene thermoelectrets was prepared as a function of polarizing temperature (35°C to 90°C) and polarizing field (5.4 kV/cm to 27 kV/cm) under controlled temperature and field conditions. Initial charge and charge-decay measurements were carried out using a Lindemann electrometer. In each case the initial charge is observed to be homo-charge and transition from homo- to hetero-charge takes place within two days or so. Initial homo- and final hetero-charge is found to be field-dependent. An attempt has been made to understand the hetero-charged acenaphthene thermoelectrets
