Abstract
DNS is one of the most important fundamental services on the internet, so people are taking more and more attention to its security. At present, the study on DNS security is mainly about protocol security, whereas all problems involved in DNS security are largely influenced by its structure. The article discussed an available alternative scheme of traditional DNS to connect the domain name servers of the internet through Chord protocol. The scheme will solve problems about single point of failure and load balance of the existing DNS effectively. Furthermore, this scheme minimizes the transformation of traditional DNS to maintain all the important properties in favor of executing feasibility. In spite of this, the scheme consumes a high network bandwidth and there´re other weaknesses compared with the traditional DNS. We use this comparison to draw conclusions about general issues that still need to be addressed.
