  • Abstract
    This paper presents a new indicator named as the power transfer stability index for predicting dynamic voltage collapse in power systems. In the time domain simulation process, dynamic power system models such as automatic voltage regulator, over excitation limiter, under load tap changer and induction motor are considered. The performance of the proposed indicator was tested using the 9-bus and the 39-bus test system and studied under various operating conditions. Simulation test results prove that the proposed indicator gives a better prediction of dynamic voltage collapse compared to the voltage collapse prediction index.
