Abstract
Power electronic converters for both propulsion and auxiliary power are nowadays routinely specified for main line and metro rolling stock. Owing to the propensity of this equipment to generate interference, ensuring that it operates safely in the railway environment is a challenging task. The paper describes the approach taken to demonstrate the electromagnetic compatibility of an auxiliary power electronic converter for London Underground trains, with particular reference to compliance with signalling compatibility requirements
